Born September
8th, 1982 in Toluca, just to the west of Mexico City. Dedicating himself to the
art
of
filigree, Franco does amazing and meticulious wire designs
in

Franco became an apprentice of artesania at the age
of 17, watching and working with other artesanos in the city of Jalapa in
Veracruz. Learning different skills by traveling throughout Mexico and visiting
arquelogical
sites for inspiration, which has brought him here to Colima today.
Angel Olivares Esquivel
During the
warm summer month of June in Toluca in the state of Mexico a future artesano
was born on the 15th in 1986. With a deep interest
to many different types of free-flowing jewelry applications and design, with
a special interest in Mexican quality silver, Angel started
to work at age 16 with his brother Francisco in and around the state of Mexico.
This spring Angel hopes to further his studies and learn the trait to become
a 'platero' (silversmith).
Currently you can find Franco and his brother Angel working with other artesanos of Colima city in the tianguis at 'Ana Martel' square in front of the 1880's neoclassic Basilica Menor. You can also find some of their beautiful wire wrap jewelry pieces here in our tienda.
